The Summer Opera Workshop at Paradise Valley Community College will present a program of operatic scenes and ensembles in the PVCC Studio Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2004. The concert is open to the public and free of charge. This year's program includes classic selections from Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, and others in their original languages, as well as modern English language works by Carlisle Floyd and Leonard Bernstein. Performers are all experienced opera singers, including several members of the Arizona Opera Chorus. The Opera Workshop, in its second season, is the outgrowth of collaboration between the PVCC Music Department chaired by Dr. Christopher Scinto, and members of the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA). The workshop is led by director Dan Kurek and coach-accompanist Ann Nagell, with support from Arizona Opera. Paradise Valley Community College is located at 18401 North 32nd Street (at the corner of 32nd Street and Union Hills Drive) in Phoenix. Last updated on July 7, 2004 |
